Project 3: Kindergarten-2nd Grade
Homemade Playdough
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1/3 cup cold water
mixing bowl/spoon
food coloring or kool-aid packet to color (optional)
Mix all ingredients in order into your bowl. Start mixing with spoon first, then as the play dough begins to thicken, use your hands.

Project 3: 3rd- 5th Grade
Superhero Self-Portraits
For this project, you will be drawing a picture of yourself as a superhero. You will also be writing an artist statement about your work. The 2 questions I would like you to answer are listed below. Make sure to write you answers inside your sketchbook.
1. What is your superhero name?
2. What are your superhero powers?
Week 1: Complete Sketch and write artist statement questions and answers in your sketchbook. Make sure to include a background in your picture to show depth.
Week 2: Complete final work of art. Make sure you color the entire composition with your choice of coloring materials (crayons, markers, colored pencils, oil pastels, and/or watercolor paint).

Fall Pumpkins: Line and Pattern
This project will take 2 full color rotations:
Materials needed:
Week 1:
sketchbook
pencil/eraser
1 loose piece of white paper
art portfolio
Week 2:
sketchbook with examples of lines from week 1
pumpkin drawing
black crayon or marker
crayons, markers, colored pencils, and/or oil pastels
Students will:
Week 1: (September 25-October 5, 2020)
Practice drawing different types of lines in your sketchbook.
Follow a step by step instruction on how to draw a Fall Pumpkin using Line and Pattern.
Answer follow-up task in itslearning.
Week 2: (October 6-October 19, 2020)
Create a contour line in their pumpkin drawing by outlining their pencil lines with a black crayon or black marker.Color the entire composition of their artwork.
Upload final artwork to task in itslearning.
Project 4: 3rd-5th Grade
Runaway Slime
Materials:
For sketchbook activity:
Sketchbook
Pencil/eraser
Crayons/something to color with
For slime:
1/4 cup glue (clear or white, any brand) (DO NOT use glitter glue unless it's Elmers, or it won't work!!!)
1/4 cup water
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2-1 tbsp saline/contact solution
mixing bowl & spoon
Optional: food coloring, glitter, beads, etc to add to slime mixture
